I just finished a small contract I had with a company, it was my 1st time since many years to actually have a 'short-term' contract. Let's say that it's different from working full time on big titles. It was fun and refreshing and I did get to meet very nice people there.
On that note, now I have 'free time' while i go job hunting again. A lot of people think that all I do is to make game documents, balance drops and write funky stories and dialogues. But most people I have worked with don't know that I have (or had) other hobbies. I did some 3d modeling before and also animation. A while back then I had art and photography classes and was really into it, just not enough to make it my career.
But one thing I do enjoy a lot, even if I'm really not quite good at it yet is drawing.
I remember when I was a kid I used to draw on walls and crazy enough.... My mother did let me draw on the walls. I always had an 'artsy' side and got no time to really work on that.
So recently I've opened a Deviant Art account, so I could post my sketches and also learn from others on there. I saw lots of scraps on DA but also really talented artists and am learning from them. I know actually a lot of ppl withing the gaming industry that are not artists but who can draw very well and just don't have the time to do so.
