Persona 4 - The 4th of a serie can be good?

I have played Persona 1,2 and 3 before, but you know most of the time sequels are never as good as the 1st game. So when they released Persona 4, I went like 'meh' a 4th one, how can it possibly be good? And at that time, I had other games that I was playing so I totally passed on that one.

Not to long ago I had a movie night at some friends' place and I don't remember how we came about to end up talking Atlus and Persona and he said he actually liked the 4th one and I say that I haven't played it. He recommended to me to at least give it a try, so I borrowed his copy. I'm currently about 57 hours in... I guess the game isn't so bad after all.

It is that different from the others? Nah not really. You are a boy who comes out of nowhere in a small quiet town where nothing never happens. Shit hits the fan, strange murders happen while you try to solve the case you meet make friends with some local kids at high school. And you summon your inner-self 'Personas'. So yes, you manage relationships, create different persona by fusing them and it's again towers to grind.

Maybe I like because I had a craving for an old RPG with some drama and cute moments. I totally fell in love with 'Nanako', she's super adorable and I guess I just had to work on that social link because I refused to let the lil girl all alone at home. And pretty much all the cast is charismatic, gotta love Chie's voice when she kick-flips stuff! And Teddie (Kuma) is plain weird AND adorable! And the music took a tad of a different tone from the 3rd game but I kinda like it as well. Oh the weaponry is also neat, well I find it amusing that you can fight will silly items such as a shoe or a wooden desk~!

Anywho, I'll keep playing, I'm almost done with it (while i download The Rift) Will let you know about the ending later. although I pretty much can predict how it end... Or maybe not. I suspect that the main protagonist (the one you play) is the killer, i mean his inner-self and/or his persona. Because all those murder happened just when you arrived, and he's the only one that didn't had to 'confront' is true-self at the start of the game plus he's too 'normal', kind and quiet. Definitely something wrong with the guy huh?
