Change of air but the love of games is still there

After looking for work as a game designer for a few months, I've decided to let the doors opened to jobs that were 'outside my field of work'. This week it has been 2 months that I'm a teacher in a private pre-school.

I've got called for a job interview and I told myself 'why not?' I've been making games for kids, why not work directly with them? What got me interested into that school is that they promote education through creativity and imagination, that's what got me.

Let me tell you that teaching children of that age is lots of work, kind of different than working with artists and programmers! But I believe it's a good life experience for me nonetheless.

Then someone at worked approached me and said: ' I've heard that you love video games and that you already worked in the industry?' I nodded and she asked: 'My fiancĂ© is working at home on a game, would you mind testing it and giving him advice?', I gladly accepted.

Actually I was pretty fun to play an indie game made by one guy at home. Sure he has a lot to work on, but I was happy to see someone who is passionate and someone I could talk game design with. Then I got back home, we exchanged a few email and it kinda slapped me in the face...

I thought that the passion about games would leave me, it did not. I actually hadn't smiled in a while but playing that game and exchanging with my 2 new friends was pretty neat and I had that smile back in my face.

Maybe I have been listening too much to the people who tried to put me down instead of the one who share the same passion about games than I do?

I'll probably see to get back into it soon enough : )
