TERA: Being GM and Vanarch

TERA Online being my 1st game where I'm a GM. And as the have a political system, I'm also Vanarch. Now you would think filling both position would be all fun and relaxing? Not quite. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy it but it's a lot of work!

This previous week tasks and duties as GM and Vanarch

This week I had to pay fees (ingame) of gold to keep our Guild Bank running. Also had to use Cathanarch Awards  to keep our Guild Level at 3 (3 being max at the moment). I did also a cleaning of our Guild Bank as new comers kept piling trash items in it. Most of the time I sell those to vendors and put the money back in our bank.

I did post on 2 different forums to give us some visibility and did some recruitment of players from all levels to make sure we have the numbers and make our guild more lively. Often when I log ingame i get messages and/or whisper and answer questions about our guild. I'm tankful to Baki (one of our officer) to have put up some forums for us so we can post and have Vent infos on there.

Being Vanarch I 'own' a certain area of the game. In that area I need to set taxes and keep shops and trainers open for business and for that i need 'Policy points'. Those are obtained by hunting World Bosses and clearing some instances. Here I'm thankful to Aggy for helping me a lot with that, without him I wouldn't had so many Policy points.

The 4th Vanarchy round just started, and I had to talk to other GM to know in what areas they would run. Also I needed to keep updated our current alliances and see if we can develop new ones. That way, we get more votes and we vote back for them. Giving us again more visibility on the server and making new friends to instance with.

I did posted on our guild forums a 'transparency post', in which I explain all about the Guild bank and make sure I 'log' all our outcomes and incomes, as I don't want to hide anything from the guild members.

As for any 'online community' there is 'drama' to be found. I'm glad that we don't have a lot within our guild although we did have a tad this past week, I've tried to talk to both parties to calm things down and make sure it doesn't create a fuss. I do hope that things will go smooth from now on.

And this is only a resume, there is so much more to come as the server and community evolves. It's a lot of work but I am enjoying and and will do it as long as I have 'free time'. It's also a good practice for me at 'management'. I hope our Guild lives long on Blightwood server.
