Playing Ni no Kuni makes me happy kinda

It has been 2 weeks that I have bought the regular edition of Ni No Kuni. But for the past 2 weeks, I've been looking at the sealed game on my desk and didn't feel like playing it because I still was sad and pissed at Digital river for cancelling my wizard edition.

Now Namco Bandai sent me an email saying they were sorry for what happened and they are sending me a free hard cover guide of the game, I'm suppose to get it next week... So, still angry but then decided I'd give the game a go ( I knew I was gonna like it... Joe Hisaishi + Ghibli + level-5 = godly).

And I'm really in love with the game~! Some ppl complained about that battles intro and outro being too long, I must agree that they are indeed a tad long, but you kinda get used to it. They could have given you the option, like some rpg do, to have 'short' or 'full' battle intro/outro.

But the game is so pretty, the music delicious and the enemies so tidy-designed~!
I love the animations on the enemies! Don't you love seeing a mob self-slappin his bum with his tail? Or a lion sneezing as intro? Ok, maybe it's me who likes weird stuff... But yah, the animation are well done and super funny! And I love the ghibli 'animal characters' like having a cat-king and a pig-queen, it's tidy Mun!

Yes, it's kinda of a 'grinding fest', meh it's a jrpg what did you expect? But the game is so visually pleasant that I don't mind the grinding.

I would have liked them to have kept the original names thought, (Oliver stayed Oliver but Shizuku became Drippy,Maru became Esther, Gyro became Swaine,Lars became Marcassin and Jabo became Shadar). Although I do appreciate that they gave us the option to keep the original voice over, makes me brush up my Japanese a lil.

I just started the game a few days ago, just picked up Maru and Gyro in my party and visited Shizuku's mom. So far I'm totally in love with the game, finally a good jrpg to satisfy my old school rpg thirst!
