Back to PoE
I got this game when it was in Beta phase and stop playing because I got busy.
Just got back to it recently and I do enjoy it way more than Diablo 3.
Seriously the skill tree is nuts but I'm lovin it~! (sorry McDonalds)
The only thing that makes me sad is there are only 3 acts but I know more will come later.
The dev team really listen to the players and that's part of why they are more successful than D3.
On that note, my son is awake, my blog will wait~!

Dayz in Alpha
Bought this.
It's currently in Alpha (I think? Pretty sure it's far from Beta)
Played it...yes it's very very Alpha.
So to anyone who wants to play Dayz, wait a tad longer cuz the game is far from enjoyable.
Lots of huge bugs which I'm sure the dev team is working hard to fix (ex: invisible aggro zombies killing you within a minute but you cannot see them ^_^)
So... I can't say much about it other than they really need to work on the controls and fix the big bad bugs.
I really do hope this game gets all nice and polished, been waiting a while for this one~!

The walking dead season 2 (game), Heartstone and D3
I was quite certain that being a single mom would be the end of my hobby and passion 'gaming'.
But I'm surprised and happy to be able to find some time, even if it's very little, to game again.
Yes, I'm getting judged because I'm old and a mom and I play video games.
Guess what, even if I wanted to throw it all away I cannot. It's part of who I am, I love playing games, making games and eating them, sort of.
So I've been playing when Seyha naps or a bit at night time between piles of laundry and baby toys.
I bought 'The walking dead season 2 (the game)' but it has been a while that I had played the 1st one, so... I played again and then the 2nd one. The 1st one was awesome, really felt in love with Clementine.
For that season 2 game, I'm not sure... Yes I liked the game, was fun to play but about Clem....I must admit that growing up around walkers must be harsh but I felt that the little girl we knew in the 1st game, glued to Lee and the little girl in this 2nd game was a tad too different... If it was years after the 1st one I'd be like: 'aigh I get it, she's older. But... it's been only a few months after Lee's death (because in this 2nd game, Christa is still pregnant). And Clementine is like all tough and telling people off... It's just not her at all.
But besides that I really liked that you were able to use your previous saved game so it made references to your choices and decisions you took. Oh, a thing that I was like...confused about, in the 1st one they do mention that the 'bite' doesn't make you turn, it's when you die that you turn. But in this 2nd game they are still all bout choppin arms and legs because of 'bites'... So, something got lost somewhere? I saw at the end of the game that there are only 2 chapters left, so that seems short no? Was it that they released too soon? Or they have plans to add more chapters? Or will they sell it cheaper? We shall see.
I have finally recovered my Battle net account, so I got to play Hearstone, neat lil nerd card games :)
And started to play, yes I'm very late, Diablo 3. I'm only Monk lvl20ish I think, so far so good. You always need exploding cows in your life, yes?
On that, my son is awake, I shall write a bit more later!

Bébé sleeps more and that means a lil gaming time for moi
As my lil prince gets near his 6th month, the 15min afternoon naps are becoming 1 and even 2 hours long.
That means he's happier because he feels rested and....I have a lil more time for gaming! Yay!
I did play, and liked, The walking dead on steam, so I just bought the second one, can't wait to play~!
I miss Clementine, she's so cool :) Also go from summer deals 'Agarest:Generations of War' that was on my wishlist.
If my bébé naps this afternoon I shall give one of those two game a try!

Unpacking and playing Two dots
I'm still crazy baby with my baby boy and also now with unpacking boxes (I just moved into a land far far away kinda) I'm playing this cute lil game on my Iphone called 'Two dots'. It's like Tetris but it's dots... It's cute and simple and entertains me while I feed my son. I think the game made it top 20ish on the App store, so a game doesn't need to be complicated or even be super innovative to be 'seen', just some old simple fun is good sometimes. While unpacking boxes I just remembered that I have so many games unopened...a lot of them I bought thinking: 'oh, I need this one, I'll play later!'.....Boy I'm not too sure I'll be able to play all that's on my shelves one day....

Game Dev Story
My gaming time is reduced to....not much for now.
Although I'm not a fan of games on Iphone... I can play them while I feed my son...
So I'm playing currently Game Dev Story, it's cute and funny :)
And....he's awake...

When I have a lil time: Shin Megami Tensei 4
When my boy is sleeping (rare time that is!), I play Shin Megami Tensei 4 on my 3ds~!
A big thank you to Tommy for gifting me the game just before I get to the hospital~!
I was sure I wouldn't like the game because the cast looks weird, and the voice over is laughable.
But....it kinda grew on me, I must admit I like the game a lot now!
Yes, there is some 'grinding' but it's totally cool with me, I do some between my son's feeding times!
Talking about feeding, time to jet, I will post more about it soon!
Cheers!

Puella magi madoka magica - Rebellion
I'm a fan of 'magical girls animes' (mind you I'm picky, I'm not a fan of all of them but some of them...)
But I love love love 'Puella magi madoka magica'.
I went to see the 3rd movie called 'Rebellion'.
The room was full, I was actually expecting a 'sold out' showing and if it was not, it was pretty close.
This movie takes place where the serie left off, you get to see what happens after Madoka becomes a 'god'. When it happened, you could see that the battle wasn't really over, but then again that serie is... a cluster of many surprises, nonsense and dementia... and that 3rd movie is part of the coo-coo train as well.
I was really happy with the art over all, very colorful yet dark and so so cute and so harsh at the same time. I fell in love with the character 'Bebe', which is in fact 'Charlotte', at least I think it is... And I knew it was too good to be true that Madoka could eliminate all 'witches' for existence...And I just don't want to spoil it all for those few people who reads me and would be interested in this anime (you really should, it's awesome!).
So I won't add anything else, but that movie was yummy and I can't wait to have more of those or even a 2nd season to Puella magi madoka magica!
Stanley Parable
So I've heard about Stanley parable... downloaded the demo and I didn't like it.
Weeks later some people tell me that the game is hilarious and that I should get it, it was then on sale for like 5$... so I got it.
I played it once (I know there are many endings) and that was it, I've found it to be boring, it was like playing a boring joke and I didn't feel like trying again just to get a different ending. Yes I do understand that some people might find it funny, but I don't... It was so long and boring to go through... Thanks god it was only 5$.

Welcome to Arstotzka~!
Having a strict budget, I'm always happy when Steam have some sales. I often pick up games under 10$. Often I just put games in my wish list and get them when the price is cheap. So I did pick up 'Papers please'.
You 'play' the role of an inspector at a border and well, you let people pass.....or not~! The 1st few minutes I've played I was a tad confused and I was all like 'what the heck am I playing?'
But then you get used to the UI and you know 'what goes where'. You make sure applicants all have the correct papers and eventually you get to take their fingerprints if you are unsure and even search them for possible weapons. I thought it was only a simple 'approved' and 'denied' thing but no, it goes deeper than that.
At some point I had a girl working in a 'restaurant', she gave me her escort card and said that there was a guy in line that would harm her and possibly kill her. So I did let the girl pass and then came THAT guy.... But the thing was that all of his papers were in order... he was all legit... so... do I let him pass knowing that something might happen to that chix? Or I just deny his entry? But if I do deny it, I lose part of my salary... But yeah, I'm a goodie goodie, so I refused to let him pass and I got money taken off my pay check. But then then thing I didn't understand is that the newspapers the next day was all about 'Stripper found dead'... So.... do decisions like that have no influence on the story at all? The girl would have died no matter what?
I was a tad disappointed I must admit.
I just started the game so I'm expecting more surprises at the border of Arstotzka :P
I'll keep playing for a bit~!

Games in between doc appointments: Candy Crush Saga and Gone home
I feel like all I'm doing lately is to travel between my apartment and the doctor's office and the hospital. I'm guessing the closer I am to give birth the more I'll see my doctor. While in the waiting room I was thinking that at the start of a pregnancy we should get a card, you know the ones like in coffee shops, buy 6 coffees and get the 7th free! Yes, it should be like that.See your doctor 4 times and the 5th you get something for free! Like... dunno diapers? or pillows? or baby clothing?
That being said, I have less and less energy to do anything lately and not much time to play games. Don't worry games, I still love you and always will! But I have finally decided to play candy crush saga on my iPhone because tons of people were spamming my Facebook with it. It's cute and colorful but I really rarely can get into those phone/FB games.. I really don't like to play only for 10 minutes then having to pay to continue or wait 8 hours or bug friends... I do understand why people like this genre, but I don't...
Then some friend recommended 'Gone Home' on steam. It's pretty much an exploration game, it lasted 4 hours for me (I took my time to walk around and explore). You come back home and there is no one there, your dad, mom and sister are gone and you have no clue why. You search the house to know what happened when you were away (a full year).
It was short yes but was well done, I liked it. When I started playing I was curious, just wanted to know what happened to that family. Then I got a little scared, thanks to the lighting and ambiance which is awesome. You know, in a dark empty house during a thunderstorm, the last place you want to go is the basement... Great job there! And the more I explored, the more I was feeling for them, I was actually a little sad. I just wanted to hug them all! (Yes like all cats!).
Some people said that the game 'Stanley parable' game is similar (game play not the story) I will go and try the demo and see...

Blog with Blogger but unable to reply to comments
I only blog casually but I do care about comments and I usually reply to them. In the past I have been able to reply to comments without any problem but it seems they have changed something and am now unable to reply to any comments below my posts.
I did a search on the web and some forums about it, a lot of people have the same issue and sadly I have not seen a solution for it. Until I find one, sorry if I don't reply to comments, I do read them all! You can always send me a mail or add me to any messenger.
Cheers!

FFIXV ARR: Finally able to play and enjoy this great game
Finally Square Enix got us rid of Error 1017, now you can actually login into the game without any problem if a small queue during busy hours.
So far I have a WHM 35 and a DRG 35 as well as a few 'discipline of the lands jobs' leveled.
I will start by saying again, damn this game is pretty, the details are amazing... Everywhere you go, I was amazed how much details every single dungeon room has. Everything that is animated is almost flawless, I think this is the 1st MMO I see that has 'facial emotes' done so well~! The game is also very funny for those who take the time to read the dialogs and quests lines (I know not many people do, most do skip through everything, your lost really!) I really like the 'Fate' battles, they are kind of similar to riftts in Rift(MMO). And even there a lot of humor was injected into the Fates' names, like 'The Big Bagoly Theory' or 'Breaking Bud'. It's like things like that that makes me smile.
The battle system is a mix of what was in 1.0, FFXI and a tad of Tera. You cannot always stand there and smash buttons, they made different enemy AoE that can makes a lot of damage if you don't move a tad and sometimes it can get bad, fast so you must really pay attention to the battle and the enemy's moves and/or spells. So far I though: 'Hey the hot bars are small compared to a lot of mmo'... But it's probably better that way, less abilities and spells although they do update (you replace Cure1 buy cure 2 etc). I'm also only level 35, that may change.
The first few dungeons are very straight forward and not much strategy is needed if only to stay out of AoE,avoid puddles of poison and defeat adds a.s.a.p... But I'd say as you get passed level 30 ones, they get a little trickier, they have not only stronger enemies but also they start to add puzzles, some of them are funny but very brutal and not permissive at all, just the way I like them!
A thing that bothers me a tad is the economy, of course the game just launched a bit ago, you must give it time... But everything you find out of treasure or mob drops are generally worth from 5 ro 15 gils (if you sell to a NPC) so I see that they really really wanted to push you to the markets boards (Auction house) to sell your stuff to other players instead of NPC. But the thing is, even questing and doing dungeons doesn't give you much money... Repairing your equipment by a NPC costs more and more, of course you can repair your stuff yourself but you must have the appropriate job for it(Weaver, leather worker, goldsmith) and to level these it takes time and money and... inventory space which is very very limited. So my solution to this was, hey! I'll just create a mule and it will hold all my mats and/or gather mats for my main character. The sad thing is, and that I don't get why..., there is no common inventory between your characters of the same account and in order to send ingame mail to someone, you must 'friend' them AND you cannot friend someone who is offline. So I cannot 'friend' my mule, I cannot send myself items at all... So now I'm stuck with a very full inventory, no space to craft and am totally broke. So if there is anything I don't see, please tell me!
Being stuck at home for a tad, FFXIV ARR is a way to keep me occupied and make sure I don't over think things too much.

RIP GTX 480
So... my 3 years old GeForce GTX 480 died, RIP~!
It took me a bit to find the problem, I've started by the usual, opened the case, 'undust',check the fans and all was clean and running. I then looked on forums and a lot of people who have the 400 and 500 series have the same issues as me, it 'hangs' in graphic-demanding games and also sometimes out of nowhere when simply browsing the web. Some of them said that re-installing the recent drivers from Nvidia was fixing everything or simply doing a 'rollback' on a previous version because the latest ones had issues only with those 2 series. I tried all that and nothing worked, I finally lost my temper and tought that anyways my pc needed cleaning with all those games installed... So yes, I went the harsh way.... format!
Guess what, it didn't fix anything, I started to get scared it was the motherboard...
A friend of mine suggested he would come to my place after work with a graphic card of his to see if my card would be the problem. Well, as soon as he put the card in with the appropriate drivers the pc was working like a charm, no more 'hangs' no BSOD! I then played Fallout 3 and FFXIV ARR to test the card out and all was fine. So yes, the problem was that my 3 years old GTX 480 died. But to make sure it was the actual case, he took my card to his place and well.... he got a BSOD on startup.
So sadly, I had to replace my GTX 480 and my budget not being as high as I would have liked lately.... I couldn't afford a GTX 700 serie, so I compared all the card that were online and that I could afford (knowing which ones would run my precious FFXI ARR) I picked the FTX 650Ti. I hope that the card will last a while, I do have a 3 years warranty on it. Now time to test that new one a little!

Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn Open Beta
While I had bought previously FFXIV version 1.0 CE and was sad that it wasn't at all what it was suppose to be.... I participated in the closed beta phase 2 to 4 of A Realm Reborn.
Sadly, my graphic card died on me a few days ago while playing Fallout 3, RIP GeForce GTX 480...
I couldn't play much of the open beta.... but luckily, i have some good friends left.
One of them did lend me one of his graphic card for a few days so I could play the open beta.
While the game isn't perfect, no game is, I'm really happy of what they have done with it.
They fixed a lot, i mean A LOT, of issues.
Battle system is more friendly than it was, UI is somewhat 'cleaner' and the crafting is way way better than what it was in 1.0. I must admit that it slightly has a 'FFXI' feel.
I played only 1 day and a half, got my Conjurer to lvl16 and my Pugilist to lvl10.
The only craft I tried was weaving, yes I wanna make my own clothes!!!
Did take part of a few 'Fates' here and there but didn't get the time to try again the dungeons.
There was also issues with connections and mostly all servers being full all the time, but hey.... That is what open beta are for! Explode your servers!!! It's a good sign, kinda, means that ppl are interested.
I will be there at launch, I think...
It will keep my mind busy for a tad, I need that.

Iphone game: Layton brothers Mystery room
I'm not a big fan of IPhone games; I check the top ones
from time to time.
Or sometimes some friends recommend me some; I always
give it a try if there’s a demo or if the game looks appealing to me. The thing
is yes I love games but I don’t like holding my IPhone in my hands all the time,
I need a big screen and a controller, maybe because I was raised with consoles…
Ranting apart, I got the game ‘Layton brothers Mystery
room’ from Level-5, yes I was already sold as I’m a Level-5 fan girl… This game
is cute and I like the genre, it’s like Professor Layton meets Phoenix Wright!
I love the art and I love mystery and crime scene stuff
(I do watch CSI, Flashpoint, Lie to me and many others) So yeah, yay for crime
scenes! (Fictional ones mind you!).
The game looks pretty and is actually fun, the first few
cases are easy (of course they are free so you don’t want to upset the player
with crazy cases you can’t solve at the start or they won’t buy the additional ones).
What also got me are the two main characters: Lucy and Alfendi. I was surprised they picked a girl as the
main character because it’s all boys in Layton series and well Phoenix Wright
is mostly all about Phoenix and Edgeworth… Lucy is smart and self-confident and
Alfendi is also smart but mysterious and sometimes during investigations he
goes coo-coo…. And that only makes me want to know what the heck is wrong with
Mr.Splitpersonalities! A tad later in the 3rd or 4th case
you learn that he goes nuts due to some case he worked on in the past, I didn’t
find out what yet… So I have to keep playing!
So yes, I’ll keep playing this one on my IPhone and then
I still need to finish FFXIII…

Me and the toilet bowl
This almost looks like me!
I guess I cannot hide it no more.
1st month I had non-stop migraines.
2nd month started nausea and lots of stomach aches.
I am now at 14 weeks and I'm still feeling upside down.
Apparently you get to feel better after the 1st semester is over, but I just passed it and I still like a seasick whale. But a happy whale mind you!
I still have to finish up FFXIII, I think I'm a tad after half of the game.
I also hop from time to time on some friends' Minecraft server, cuz I can.... But I most admit I did all there was to do in Minecraft and building is getting boring.
I still want to play The last of us, but I'll wait for a price drop since it's not in my priorities for now...
Meanwhile I have a few doc appointments to make sure baby is ok.

Here I go again 10th try...
For now I have free time, before it disappears I better game a little more.
I have been trying in the past to play and finish FF13.... never could.
Now only the endless repetitive corridors are boring me to no end but the cast.... is getting on my nerves... Lightning to me is a female version of Cloud, Vanille is annoying and 'blonde-looking', Snow is a douche, Hope is too emo and all the others very forgettable... But that's only me... Some of my friends totally loved this game and love all those characters, I don't know maybe I'm picky.
Anywho, I've been told over and over to play the game again and give it a chance, that it grows on you. So I'll be doing that this week... Hopefully will be able to finish it so I can also start and finish FF13-2 and be ready for 'Lightning's return'.... maybe...
So, I better get cracking, those corridors take a long long time...
